Andrew Brown
Andrew (Andy) Brown is the physical education teacher at Westminster Academy. Coach Brown holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Geneva College where he dual-majored in history and aviation and was on the men’s soccer team. Coach Brown also holds a law degree from Liberty University School of Law and is a licensed member of the Florida Bar. Prior to joining Westminster Academy, he was a civil defense attorney representing a variety of clients in complex aviation products liability, wrongful death, construction defect, and other types of litigation. Coach Brown is also a licensed Airline Transport Pilot with over 4,000 hours flown for US Airways Express and as a contractor pilot in Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He also currently works as an aviation law professor at the graduate and doctoral levels.
Coach Brown is a New Hampshire native and spends his free time exercising, reading, volunteering with his church, and spending time with his wife and three children.
Martha Crane, Head of School
Martha Crane has loved teaching since she was 15 years old when she taught Sunday school at her church. From beloved and influential teachers in her own life, she realized that she wanted to pursue teaching as a calling. Mrs. Crane graduated from Oral Roberts University with a degree in K-12 education. It was while homeschooling her oldest daughter that she and her husband were approached to help start the first Classical Christian School in Tampa. In the early years there, she taught PE, but as the school grew, she moved into the classroom teaching 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades, culminating her last three years there as the Grammar School Principal. She is thankful that her grandchildren are attending classical schools around the country. Most recently, Mrs. Crane has served on the Board of Trustees at Westminster Academy since 2020. She has been married to Tom for forty years, and they have three children and nine grandchildren.
Shannon Downing
Shannon Downing is the first grade teacher and the enrollment coordinator at Westminster Academy. Dr. Downing has a BS in Multinational Business from Florida State University, an MEd in Elementary Education from University of Florida, and most recently, a PhD in Instruction and Curriculum from Liberty University. Dr. Downing has taught for Pinellas County Public Schools, St. Petersburg College, Classical Conversations, and Westminster Academy. She is a trustee on the Boards of Westminster Academy and College of the Ozarks and serves as a consultant, speaker, and researcher of the influence of classical education on the faith formation of children and parents. She has been married for 35 years to her husband Gary, and together they have two grown daughters and a son-in-law.
Alec Graybill
Alec Graybill is the third grade teacher at Westminster Academy. Mr. Graybill graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry. He was born and raised in Tampa, growing a passion for ministry at a young age. Mr. Graybill has served in many areas of the church before joining Westminster Academy, most notably in student ministry. He is passionate about studying and teaching the Bible, helping others to grow in their understanding of God and His Word. In his free time, Mr. Graybill loves to play disc golf and pickleball, and cheer on the Rays, Buccaneers, and Gators.
Ashley Hilton
Ashley Hilton is the Administrative Assistant and ballet teacher at Westminster Academy. Mrs. Hilton graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and a minor in Business. Prior to joining Westminster, Mrs. Hilton worked at the Straz Center's Patel Conservatory for ten years, where she served as the Dance Administrative Supervisor for Next Generation Ballet and the Dance Department. While at the Straz Center, she taught ballet and modern dance to ages prekindergarten through adult as well as a ballet outreach for kindergarten through fifth grade at Metropolitan Ministries' Partnership School. Mrs. Hilton is so grateful to be teaching ballet at Westminster Academy in a Christ-centered environment and sharing the joy of dance with her students. In her free time, Mrs. Hilton loves spending time exploring with her husband and three sons. She can often be found on the football field cheering on her kids or watching sports with them.
Micah Lewis
Micah Lewis is Westminster Academy’s 2nd grade teacher and Academic Dean. He graduated from North Greenville University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education with additional certifications for K-6 education. During his grade school years, Mr. Lewis was homeschooled and experienced the classical liberal arts tradition through the many opportunities that this model of education naturally provided. He served in a classical charter school as a grammar school classroom teacher and school leader for nine years. In these roles, he had the privilege to lead students and faculty alike in the development of hearts and minds via the implementation of classical education philosophy. Throughout his schooling and career, Mr. Lewis has developed an even greater love and conviction for the classical model and a continued desire to facilitate it with excellence.
Outside of school, Mr. Lewis shares intentional time with his wife and three young children. He also finds enjoyment in his many hobbies, which include automotive maintenance, motorcycling, shooting sports, collecting vinyl records, and reading great books. He enjoys detailed discussions about the finer philosophical and artistic points in his favorite books and movies.
Donna Lynam
Donna Lynam is the second grade co-teacher and the Aftercare Director at Westminster Academy. Mrs. Lynam attended Florida State University before earning a degree in Christian Education at Florida Bible College and a Master’s in Education Administration from Dallas Theological Seminary. She also earned the Master Teacher Certification through The Association of Classical and Christian Schools. Mrs. Lynam has been a fourth and fifth grade teacher in classical Christian schools for nearly thirty years. Mrs. Lynam loves her students, and she desires to give them an educational experience that is accompanied by learning the truths of our Lord and His work in the world.
Mrs. Lynam and her husband ran high school ministries as well as college Bible studies for seven years in Pennsylvania before settling in Tampa, Florida. In her free time, Mrs. Lynam enjoys nature, camping, hiking and bird watching with her husband, Bruce, and three children, Brian, Meredith, and Bethany.
Jennifer Myers
Jennifer Myers is thrilled to be the new kindergarten teacher at Westminster Academy. Mrs. Myers has homeschooled her eldest son using the classical Christian education model while attending and teaching at a classical Christian co-op. Since 2021, she has served as a paraeducator/teaching assistant in the kindergarten program at Cascade Christian School in Washington State. During those years, Ms. Myers studied at Western Governors University where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Studies in Elementary Education so that she could have a kindergarten class of her own. She has been married for 27 years to her husband, Jeffrey, and they have two boys, Calvin (20) and Connor (10). In her free time, Mrs. Myers loves anything arts and crafts, snuggling with her Doxie-Pin, Benjamin, and hanging out with family and friends! She looks forward to teaching the kindergartners not only about the world in which we live, but also about the Creator who made our world.
Shirley Prince
Shirley Prince is the fourth grade teacher at Westminster Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Florida. Ms. Prince has nearly thirty years of experience in teaching, and much of that experience has been in classical Christian education. Ms. Prince loves teaching and delights in seeing her students come to a deeper understanding of math concepts as they pursue mastery. Ms. Prince was born and raised in Tampa. In her free time, Ms. Prince enjoys cheering on the Gators, crafting, spending time with her son and two dogs, or going on outdoor adventures with friends.
William Shell
William Shell is Westminster Academy’s third grade teacher. Mr. Shell graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s degree in English, minoring in Creative Writing. Through PBA, he had the privilege of studying abroad in Rome, Italy where he learned much about the culture, food, history and language of that region. He is looking forward to sharing these experiences with the third graders at Westminster Academy. Over the past year, Mr. Shell worked as a teacher’s assistant for a school in the inner city of West Palm Beach. In his spare time he is an adventurer and enjoys rock climbing, cycling, and language learning.
Nevair Singleton
Nevair Singleton is Westminster Academy’s Assistant to the Head of School. She graduated from Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL with a Bachelor’s degree in English. Mrs. Singleton has been teaching for over 20 years and has been with Westminster Academy since 2017. Mrs. Singleton has had the privilege of teaching in several different roles over the years at Westminster, whether it be as the lead teacher for 3rd-5th grades, the primary Latin instructor, and most recently, Westminster’s Art teacher. Despite her extensive experience in educational roles, she has enjoyed a number of other pursuits including, owning and operating her own coffee roastery, editing medical and theological papers, and being heavily involved in caring for high schoolers in summer camps. Mrs. Singleton, who is a Chicago native (go Cubs!), now lives in St. Petersburg with her husband and their children. She and her husband are currently pursuing certification as Biblical counselors through Association of Certified Biblical Counselors, and they’re in their final observation phase!
